MCW Cancer Center Shared Resource Acknowledgement Statement
The Cancer Center has invested heavily in Shared Resource expertise, instrumentation, and administration and it is therefore imperative that, whenever possible, Shared Resource activity be acknowledged in publications as well as posters and presentations even if the work of the Shared Resource has been fully funded by a PI (for instance, through existing grants). The acknowledgments enable the Cancer Center to measure and document Shared Resource productivity, impact, and service to members.
Acknowledgement Criteria
- Basic scientific advice and consultation
- Fee-for-service technical help
- Standard fee-for-service analysis
- Minor material support, e.g., cells, antibodies, DNA

In certain instances, scientific contributions by Shared Resource directors or staff involve intellectual effort and collaborative involvement that rise to the level of authorship on resulting publications. The Shared Resource should also be acknowledged in these cases.
